Columnist Nora Princiotti offers up eight takeaways from the recent announcement of this year's Grammy nominations, with the awards show set for Feb. 2. Chiefly, Beyoncé cleaned up in the nominations with her album "Cowboy Carter" nominated in all three top categories (Album, Record and Song of the Year) along with other nods in the pop, rap, country and Americana categories. Number two, the Best New Artist category is a proverbial heavyweight fight between just two artists, Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter. Three, while Beyonce, Roan, Carpenter and Taylor Swift dominated the nominations, some notable female divas were shut out, including Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa. Princiotti's other observations ranged from country artists being largely absent from the major categories like Song of the Year and Record of the Year to Charli XCX grabbing seven Grammy nods despite having never been previously nominated.
