John P. Buschhorn Ticketing Titan Award
Each year we honor the legacy of our dear friend by presenting the John P. Buschhorn Ticketing Titan Award to a most deserving member of our ticketing community.
It was our honor to present the 2025 FutureTix John P. Buschhorn Ticketing Titan Award to Danny Frank today, May 28th, 2026. A small group of us were able to gather virtually to present this well-deserved award.
The John P. Buschhorn Ticketing Titan Award is given annually to a long-term ticketing professional that has exhibited the same Leadership, Integrity and Excellence that John embodied. The original 1960 name of John’s beloved New York Jets football team was the New York Titans.
Danny is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience leading premium ticket operations, global hospitality programs, and high-end client experiences across the world’s most iconic sporting and entertainment events. Known throughout the industry as “the guy who can do anything and knows everyone,” he has built a distinguished career delivering flawless event execution under high pressure, tight timelines, and complex operational demands.
For nearly two decades, he served as Senior Vice President and Global Manager of Client Entertainment & Ticket Services (CEATS) at Citigroup, where he developed and led the bank’s centralized global ticketing and hospitality infrastructure. His leadership supported Citi’s major sponsorships and world-class client entertainment at events including The Masters, the Super Bowl, New York Fashion Week, the US Open Golf Championships, and the PGA Championship, while managing a multimillion-dollar global budget and generating more than $30 million in long-term savings.
Before joining Citi, he held key leadership roles in international sports and entertainment. During his tenure with the National Hockey League, he managed all ticketing operations for marquee events including the NHL All-Star Game, the NHL Awards, and the 2004 World Cup of Hockey. Danny’s experience in ticketing also includes managing ticket operations at the Georgia Dome when it opened in 1992, stints in both the North Carolina State and University of Maryland Athletic Ticket Offices and for a short time worked for Ticketmaster.
A lifelong member of INTIX, Danny was the co-chair of the 2020 INTIX Conference in New York and was the recipient of the 2020 INTIX Ticketing Professional of the Year. He is an avid golfer, lifelong sports enthusiast, husband to Susan, and proud dad of Rachel.
John Buschhorn’s ticketing career began in 1977 when he became the New York Cosmos ticketing manager. “Buschie”, as he was known to his many industry friends, subsequently became Vice-President & General Manager for Ticketmaster’s East Region covering from Virginia to Maine. He worked closely with Fred Rosen in what many call the “wild, wild west days” of ticketing. One day the New York Jets were seeking someone to run their ticketing department. Buschie was an ideal fit and so began a 14-year career with the Jets. When the Jets offices moved from Long Island to New Jersey, John took a Director’s position at Madison Square Garden. A little-known fact is that before ticketing, John was a New York City Police Officer for four years. John was a mentor to so many; he was a charismatic character, and his stories and good humor brought smiles to all that knew him. To know John was to love John.
The previous recipients of this award are Bob Beatty, MSG (retired); Maureen Andersen, President & CEO, INTIX; Curtis Howells,, Consolidated Printing; Vince Rieger, Shubert (retired), Gail Anderson, Minnesota State Fair (retired), Karen Sullivan, Meadowlands Sports Complex (semi-retired), Veronica Lawlor , LA Lakers, Russ Stanley, San Francisco Giants, Joan Sullivan, Ticket Office Gypsy (semi-retired) and now Danny Frank has taken his place as the 10th recipient of this prestigious award.
Danny, congratulations on your many achievements. Thank you for your passion and dedication to our ticketing tribe and for the many lifelong friendships you have fostered.
