The Coachella festival's steadily growing capacity over the years has made it easier for fans to obtain tickets that are affordable in relation to the actual sticker price. Stubhub data says a few weekend 2 tickets actually cost less than Coachella's original list price, and have been since the on-sale date. Weekend 1 tickets are commanding a slight premium that starts in the low-$500s, which is not totally exorbitant compared to a starting price of $429. Weekend 1 is typically afforded a premium, since it is Coachella's first run. Upper-tier access starts at about $1,000, while other add-ons, such as shuttle buses, camping passes, and VIP parking passes, also are available in reasonable quantities. Coachella usually announces a sellout within hours of going on-sale, inviting people to join the waiting list. This is attractive for fans boxed out of the first sales window, although aftermarket options for the moment appear to offer a simpler transaction.
