Bringing Back the Audience: 1,000-Cap Standing Concerts Realized in Germany

German promoters Newado entertainment, Mö PR and Major Compact Units jointly hosted two standing concerts in Oschatz, Saxony, bringing in more than 1,500 fans over the July 10-11 weekend. The lineup on both nights included German disc jockey pair Gestört aber Geil and punk rock band Goitzsche Front. Each concert had a nightly capacity of 960 people, with guests standing in boxes for up to four people. A one-way street system ensured that crowds could maintain social distancing without wearing face masks, while toilets from Major Compact Units were installed to avoid people passing each other too closely. Promoters cited consistently positive feedback from attendees, and they envision standing boxes as a viable means of promoting shows moving forward. Tickets for the first eight rows were slightly more expensive than the rest. Audiences did not mind the higher prices necessitated by increased personnel requirements and equipment.
