The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, held yearly on the 700-acre Bonnaroo Farm in Manchester, Tenn., has canceled its shows for 2027 after severe storms battered its grounds for a second consecutive year. Organizers issued an official statement that promised the break "will only make Bonnaroo better." The festival had invested heavily in the property ahead of this year’s event, with improvements that included improved drainage, more than four miles of new roadways, and 135 acres of new grass. But they were not enough to prevent more disruptions. More wet weather is expected in the region during next year's first quarter as El Niño strengthens. Founded in 2002, Bonnaroo has hosted some of music's biggest names over the years, including Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Beyoncé, U2, Eminem and Elton John. The event typically draws approximately 80,000 fans each year, making it one of America's largest music festivals.
