Musicals inspired by movies and TV shows continued to be top ticket sellers on Broadway in 2025. Among those now in performances are "Moulin Rouge! The Musical," "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," "The Outsiders," "Stranger Things: The First Shadow," "The Great Gatsby," and "Death Becomes Her." "Beetlejuice" has sold well for a number of months, but will be closing Jan. 3, 2026. Showing no signs of slowing down is "The Lion King" at the Minskoff Theatre. And coming in the new year are "Beaches," with previews beginning March 26, and "The Lost Boys, A New Musical," with previews starting a day later.
