Arenametrix, the leading French scale-up offering Data and CRM solutions for the cultural and sports sectors, has reached a new milestone. Founded and led by Kévin Vitoz (CEO) and Ludovic Bordes (COO), the company is today announcing that it has raised a further €8 million, including €6 million in equity, led by Réflexion Capital, a fund specialising in profitable growth in the tech sector, with the support of its long-standing investor Newfund, which is also participating in the deal.
The deal marks a crucial stage in the company's growth strategy, as it aims to become the European leader in entertainment data solutions, notably by seizing acquisition opportunities in a highly fragmented market. To achieve this, Arenametrix is counting on a team of 50 people, including recognised experts in the fields of technology and digital marketing.
Arenametrix stands out for its omnichannel platform offering a 360° view of audience engagement. With over 100 connectors (with ticketing platforms such as Weezevent, Ticketmaster, Secutix, Eventim, etc.), the solution enables event organisers to:
- Centralise and analyse data
- Intelligently segment their audience
- Automate personalised marketing campaigns via SMS, emailing, Whatsapp and push notifications from a single platform
- Optimising the customer experience at every stage, from booking to post-visit
Organic and profitable growth
Founded in 2013 and following a previous €1.5 million round of funding with Newfund Capital, Arenametrix has rapidly established itself as the French leader in its sector. The company, which has been profitable since 2020, has high ambitions, with an ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) target of €10 million over three years and €20 million over five years, thanks to accelerated organic growth and acquisitions, a strategy it has already begun to implement with the recent acquisitions of smartapps and GuestViews. This fund-raising comes at a time when, according to the French national statistics office INSEE, household spending on cultural and leisure activities is on the rise.
The scale-up already has more than 300 customers in three business segments: sport, live entertainment and museums/leisure and tourist sites. Its references include renowned institutions such as the Comédie Française, the Crazy Horse, the Palais de Tokyo, the Mucem in Marseille, the Geneva Opera, La Fenice in Venice, the Musikverein in Vienna and the Hall des Lumières in New York.
Kévin Vitoz , CEO and co-founder of Arenametrix, is enthusiastic: “Thanks to this round of funding, Arenametrix will be able to create a real synergy between data and the audience experience. Our aim is clear: to enable event organisers to boost spectator engagement, optimise and intensify the emotional experience for fans, while giving them total control over their data.”
Ivan Michal, General Partner at Reflexion Capital, said: “Arenametrix is a company that I have personally followed since 2018, which its founders have been able to develop into profitable growth, thanks to a combination of very deep knowledge of their market, a long-term vision and a strong ability to execute. This transaction should enable them to move from the position of French leader to that of European leader, thanks to the acceleration of a buy & build strategy that has already proven its effectiveness."
Ambitious international expansion
Already present in several European cities, including Vienna, Barcelona, Rome and Copenhagen, Arenametrix currently generates 30% of its sales internationally. This new round of funding will enable the company to accelerate its European and global expansion, notably through an increased build-up strategy. The company, which already equips clubs in the top football leagues of Switzerland and Belgium, has its sights set on working with other European sports leagues.
The German-speaking market is proving particularly promising, with strong traction and around forty customers acquired through organic growth. The region is proving a fertile ground for mergers and acquisitions, strengthening Arenametrix's position. The company is aiming to achieve around thirty references in each growth market, particularly the Benelux countries, Italy and the Nordic countries.
Arenametrix's aim is to become a leading local player in the entertainment and sports sector in each geographical area. The company is convinced that European cultural and sporting organisations would benefit from using CRM solutions developed by a specialist player on the continent, rather than generalist American tools. This approach underlines the importance of offering tailor-made solutions, adapted to the specific needs of the European entertainment market.
Nicolas Hustache, Marketing and Communications Director at Château de Versailles Spectacles: "The teams at Château de Versailles Spectacles and the Opéra Royal du Château de Versailles have been working with Arenametrix since 2019 to deploy an ambitious marketing strategy. The tool and the support for the teams are designed specifically to meet the needs of our commercial vision. With Arenametrix, we centralise our data, we have a precise view of the results of our campaigns and we personalise the experience of our audiences while saving time on a daily basis. Since we started working together, the tool has evolved considerably, offering a host of features to help us build the spectator experience of tomorrow.”
By combining technological innovation, data expertise and an understanding of the challenges facing the sector, Arenametrix is redefining the standards of the event experience. The aim is to encourage people to get off their sofas and experience authentic emotions at live events.
Digital tools and CRM are just the means to preserve and enrich the live experience. By facilitating the connection between organisers and audiences, Arenametrix is helping to ensure the long-term future of live entertainment, giving fans the chance to experience these unique moments to the full.
