Amazon is reportedly investing in live audio features that will commence with concerts and later move into talk shows and podcasts. Amazon Music is apparently leading this initiative, and will permit users to access live performances through their accounts. Axios says the company has already been in discussion with major record labels about events with their artists. Live audio could be an attempt by Amazon to broaden the types of content it can offer customers who own Amazon smart speaker products with Alexa virtual assistant technology. The e-commerce giant was also said to be exploring an integration of those live audio features into its Twitch livestreaming service, which Amazon has owned since 2014.
