In a world reeling from COVID, the ticketing industry faces an uncharted frontier — but every new frontier is an opportunity for pioneers. Through careful research and a commitment to developing products and technologies with people in mind, Allianz Partners has kept abreast of industry changes. That’s how the company has been able to continuously provide the standout service that has kept it at the top of its industry.
Tom Trotta, Vice President of Sales and Partnerships, explains more about how Allianz Partners has adapted to best serve its partners and their customers.
How has COVID affected consumers’ wants and needs when purchasing event tickets?
We see ticket insurance as not just simply a “product” but a solution to common consumer concerns and protection in covered situations that may cause them to miss their event. When the pandemic first occurred, we took quick action to institute accommodations to help customers with COVID-related illness claims. At the end of the day, people love going to events. Our goal is to design products that help protect them when things don’t go as planned.
What level of flexibility does Allianz ticket insurance offer?
Ticket insurance is not a replacement for a fully refundable ticket, but it certainly does help fill a huge gap. Customers can be reimbursed the cost of the ticket (and fees) should they not be able to attend the event for dozens of covered reasons. This not only gives consumers an option should things not go as planned, but it also gives them confidence to buy tickets earlier and can help take some of the burden of complaints off ticket sellers.
What does Allianz's ticket insurance cover, and what doesn’t it cover?
Having worked with some of the most iconic event ticketing brands, venues and teams around the world for over a decade, we have designed our plans to cover common unexpected situations that might derail customers’ plans.
Most of our plans cover between 25 and 40 unique reasons for cancellation. These include injury, illness or death of the ticket holder, family member or companion; traffic accidents en route to an event, legal proceedings, professional obligations and many more.
How is Allianz innovating their ticket insurance to meet shifting demands from consumers?
Each year, Allianz Partners analyzes billions of data points through our real-time quotation integrations and conducts over 2.5 million surveys to understand and anticipate consumer needs. We also speak with our long list of partners and with regulators across the U.S. and globe to understand where the industry is moving.
Allianz Partners is also one of the world’s leading travel insurance companies. Our award-winning customer service, refined over decades of assisting travelers, is the same care we provide ticket holders. We developed our best-in-class quotation engine to continually experiment and personalize offers to help find products that best meet the needs of a consumer. That enhances customer experience, leads to more customers being covered and drives additional and sustained business performance.
