The AfroFuture music festival has transformed into a phenomenon that rivals other renowned events in terms of creativity and connectivity. Now entering its fifth year, the event has become invaluable for both African creatives and admirers in celebrating the whole of African diasporic culture. All attendees are encouraged to express themselves in an environment designed to promote comity and uniqueness. The festival's organizers are billed as visionaries, and philanthropy director Gifty Boakye said each team leader's unique skills helps grow the scale of each successive event. AfroFuture's inclusivity is its biggest competitive advantage over Coachella; it provides a platform where people may express themselves freely and confidently, and acquire knowledge from African culture. The theme for this year's event was the links that music makes between various cultural facets. "We are integrating music and dance, music and food, and music and fashion. We want to find a way to connect other nations to this continent," said AfroFuture's head of talent + music, Khadijat El Alawa. "As we develop, we hope that more people will come to celebrate as well as to learn about the culture. People will feel like they share something in common with African culture by adding other aspects of connectivity."
